I can’t believe the 4th of July has already come and gone since it really is my favorite weekend of the Summer (not to mention it’s also my Birthday). We threw a party to celebrate the grand ol’ USA, and little old me too! Independence day always makes me think of old school Americana. You really have to love iconic American culture….old fashioned pennant flag banners, mason jars for drinking, paper straws, sparklers….it really just puts you in the mood to celebrate and that we did! A whole lot of drinks and relaxation along with a night capped off by our own fireworks display made for quite a memorable 4th of July this year.

Homemade Blackberry Vodka & Limoncello along with raspberry simple syrup, fresh fruit and fresh mint made for some darn good cocktails. The tablecloths I picked up back in may for our Housewarming party lent them selves quite well for Independence Day!

I just love cocktails in a mason jar…there is something so downright wonderful about it. Not to mention the paper straws…they just make everything feel so perfectly vintage.

I made these pennant banners with some simple red and blue patterned calico fabric & ribbon.

Bowser was a very patriotic English Bulldog!

Thanks to some great friends & family it was a perfect evening for a lovely Summer night. Hope everyone enjoyed their 4th of July!
