One of the few downsides of my recent job switch is the fact that my former office used to be conveniently located right next to a wonderful flower shop. Aside from the fact that I was a weekly regular, they always had in stock my favorites from in season Peonies to year round Hydrangea which have been pretty hard to live with out lately. I’ve now been relegated to the grocery store florist. *sigh*
On the bright side this downgrade has been much better for my wallet….and I’ve gotten much better at having a keen eye for what will look luxe even after I rescue it from baby’s breath hell. This week I was in luck since our local grocer had lovely bunches of sunflowers out on special…and they’ve really been brightening up our week.

Sunflowers are actually one of my more overlooked favorites, they are so simple but make such a nice statement and add such a pretty pop of color to the room. What do you guys think? Am I being a grocery store flower snob? Or maybe I’m just shopping at the wrong store! In any case I’m slowly getting used to it and now purchasing flowers from a real florist is more of a once in a while splurge.
Hope everyone had a nice weekend….we had a lovely time with some of my close friends who were visiting for the weekend, and took a nice day trip to Newburyport, MA. Once I have some pictures uploaded I’ll be sure to share more details!
