The City That Never Sleeps

I spent this past weekend in NYC, catching up with my sister and a few old friends. We wined, we dined, and laughed only like sisters and long time friends can. Brunch and Cocktails is probably my favorite thing on earth and our pre  Metropolitan Museum of Art brunch n’ cocktails was fan-tastic.

We enjoyed a Fresh Tuna and Mozzarella Salad, lightly tossed in a lemon vinaigrette along with Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict, butternut squash soup, and Prosecco cocktails. These cocktails were amazing…like, I want to make them every-day-amazing.  Just a refreshing blend of champagne, Limoncello, and an aromatic garnish of Rosemary. So simple yet so perfect.

I’m still trying to catch up from the lack of sleep and hustle and bustle of the city that never sleeps.  Looking forward to A relaxing long weekend filled with Turkey and Family.

Antiquing Heaven

When we were in the Berkshires last month we managed to do a little bit of Antiquing on our way home. Sheffield is loaded with all kinds of antique stores, so it was as simple as driving down the main street and stopping wherever we felt like poking around. We happened to stumble upon one of the best antique shops I’ve ever encountered. The elderly man who owned it had built an entire room on his house just for glass door knobs. YES. You read correctly.

I wanted to buy every single one of those old chippy shutters, but while I didn’t actually walk away with any – I did scoop up a few treasures that I still need to share with you. (hint hint, it involves that room full of glass door knobs!)

November Nights

These past few nights have gotten extremely chilly here…but my recent Pajama Purchase has made these cold nights a whole lot cozier.

Warm flannel PJ’s with a dash of Ralph Lauren glamour! With a robe tossed on top I think I’ve got my Saturday Morning outfit covered this winter.

Berkshires Getaway Part II

I promised last week that I would share more photos from our trip out to the Berkshires and here they are! While it was a rather chilly weekend we did luck out with some sunshine on Saturday and we made use of it by going on two hikes to enjoy some of the Fall Foliage.

The first hike was out to the beautifull Race Brook Falls.  About ten minutes in it already felt like we were out in the middle of the woods – pure peace and quite with the exception of the rushing water from the Falls in the distance.

We paused midday to enjoy some lunch back at the Inn but ventured back out to walk around Bartholomew’s Cobble, a scenic preserve in Sheffield, MA.  We found a simple trail that lead us to a beautifull Summit with fantastic views of the surrounding land and mountains. We stayed there until sunset enjoying a rustic picnic of wine bread and cheese.   All in all it was a gorgeous Fall Weekend and I think we snuck it in at just the right time as today we woke up to a chilly 30 degrees, frost outside, and most of the leaves on the ground. Winter always does sneak up on us fast here in New England!
