Hi Cordia! I'm so glad that you found the photo's helpful. I know what you mean about all of the shades being over whelming. I actually went with Glidden's Crisp Linen White in semi gloss because of its durability - though if I could go back I would choose something slightly less glossy.

Crisp Linen white was a nice softer shade of white which I think looks great with the stained wood so its not too harsh next to each other - and your right not painting the doors IS less work and they look great together! Good Luck!

I love it! I think I will do this in my upstairs. What brand of paint and what shade of white did you end up using? There are sooo many shades of white, it's overwhelming. I follow YHL and I know they use white straight out of the can for their trim.

I stumbled upon your blog while researching images of white trim and dark doors and other trim. I am in the same dilemma in my 1920's house. The woodwork is beautiful, but like you, I love the look of crisp white trim. I am torn with what to do. Between all the hardwood floors and dark trim, I feel like it is too much brown. I have leaded glass bookcases too on either side of the fireplace. I think they would look great painted, but I dont think I can bring myself to do that as they look beautiful as is too. Thanks to the pics you found, I may have found a happy medium. I am liking the painted trim and leaving the doors dark. Hey, it's one less thing to paint right? I have lots to do in the house, so I guess I have time to go back and forth about it,lol.
